The Weight of Grief and Glory

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 Today I am grieving what I feel has wasted away within me in the 10 years I've spent without my mom.  It's catastrophic. I know God's done so much good and has given me strength and no doubt lots of growth. Yet I look at myself and I still just see so much loss . Not always. But today I do. My spirit, body, mind have been worn over this time and it shows. (Motherhood, I realize, in all of its sleepless glory, is a big part of that too) I grieve the weight I've been carrying to "keep it all together" when things keep on moving.
